FTMAINTENANCE ALTERNATIVE · FASTMAINT CMMS, CLOUD OR ON-PREMISES

FastMaint: a CMMS you can price, try and set up without a sales call

FastMaint puts its prices on the website and the complete product in your hands for 30 days, before you’ve spoken to anyone. If you’re searching for an FTMaintenance alternative, you may know the other route. A quote you have to call for. A demonstration at a time that suits somebody else. Then a setup that takes longer than anyone said, and standard reports that never quite show what you need. FastMaint is built to skip all of that, in our cloud or on your own servers.

The short version. If it’s the quote you had to phone for, the setup that dragged, or the reports that never quite fit, you’re not being fussy. FastMaint answers them, for one plant, one hotel, one facility, with a maintenance team of anything from two people to ten or more, and nobody whose job title contains “IT”: published prices, a 30-day trial of the complete product, and software your team learns in days. Run it as FastMaint Cloud or on your own servers.

See it working on your equipment before you talk to anyone

A scheduled demonstration shows you the software in practised hands. It can’t tell you whether your technicians, with their own job lists, will still be opening it in week three.

So FastMaint’s trial is the whole product for 30 days, with no credit card and no call to book. Build your equipment list and PM schedules, hand it to your team, and watch. If it works, enter a license key and keep everything. Bob at Grange Quarry started from nothing: “Easy to use. Easy to set up. Will become more valuable the longer we use it.”

Start your own trial today

Nothing to schedule and nobody to call first. Your equipment, your team, the complete product.

No credit card. If you buy, everything you set up carries over.

Prices on the page, not on the phone

If you’ve had to ring for a quote, wait for the call back, and then ask again when the renewal came round, you know how much time it eats. You can’t take a number to your boss until somebody gives you one.

FastMaint publishes its prices for every edition, one-time license or monthly Cloud, on the features and prices page, next to what each edition does. Read them, pick an edition, and you know where you stand before you’ve sent a single email. FTMaintenance’s pricing page lists four plans, and each one says call for quote.

Set up in days, not still on the to-do list next year

The most expensive CMMS is the one that never gets finished. Months after buying, the equipment list is half entered, nobody has been shown how to raise a work order, and the team has quietly gone back to the whiteboard.

FastMaint is laid out for people who already have a day job. Enter your equipment or import it from a spreadsheet, set up the PMs you already do, and start issuing work orders. Learned in days. Maher Kloub at National Chlorine Industries: “Very easy to learn, easy to start, easy to plan & easy to report.”

It literally took me minutes to show my maintenance staff and management staff how to interact with the software.

— Mathew Thompson, Chief of Operations, One Penn Management (read the case study)

His team saves around 7 hours a week on maintenance management now.

Reports that answer the question you were asked

Standard reports that almost fit are their own kind of trap. You end up exporting to a spreadsheet, or pricing up a report-writing tool, to get the one number your manager wants.

FastMaint’s reports are built for the questions you actually get asked, in every edition. Work order cost and duration against the estimate. Downtime compared across three successive periods, with drill-down to the records behind the total. Costs that roll up through your equipment and location hierarchy, so a whole line or a whole building has a number. On FastMaint Cloud, reports can also run on a schedule and arrive in your inbox. And when you need one of your own, custom reports are in every edition too.

Shaped around your plant, not the other way round

Every plant is odd in its own way. If you can’t get the fields you need onto the record, people keep the real information somewhere else, and the CMMS starts to drift from what’s on the floor.

FastMaint gives you custom fields, task templates and equipment and location hierarchies in every edition. A location can carry its own work orders like any machine, and one work order can cover several pieces of equipment and locations together. Mick Hobbs at Siddall & Hilton Products: “it’s very flexible and can be moulded to suit specific requirements.” Trent Le Clair at Key Technology, on the side most people forget to ask about: “On the admin side, it’s a dream to update and maintain.”

When you call, the people who built it answer

We’re a small company on purpose. Email us and you reach the people who wrote the software, problems get looked at quickly, and what customers tell us is genuinely listened to.

I had an issue with the program after the update and Sanjay listened and worked hard to understand the issue and help get it resolved!

— Jennifer Oakley, Maintenance Planner, Demkota Ranch Beef

Four of our five published case-study customers have used FastMaint for more than ten years. Same product, same company, since 2002.

Your network or our cloud, both first-class

FTMaintenance offers cloud and on-premise options too, so here the question is how much of your time the software asks for. FastMaint gives you a menu, with the same maintenance core in every option:

  • FastMaint Cloud. Hosted by us, used in a browser on a computer, tablet or phone. Nothing to install, no server to look after, updates and support in the subscription. Starts at a single user.
  • FastMaint Web on your own server. The same browser access for your team, with the data on your own network, run by your IT.
  • FastMaint Professional or Standard on Windows computers. Built for sites with little IT support, and keeps working when the internet doesn’t. Professional is multi-user; Standard is for a single user.

Move between them as you grow. Start installed and step up to Cloud later, or leave Cloud at any time with your whole database backed up to a file the installed editions open. Your data is never held hostage.

Who FastMaint is for

One site. A few people who already have day jobs. A manager who wants to read the price, try the software on their own equipment, and have the team using it this month. If that’s the CMMS you went looking for, this is it.

FastMaint is rated 4.1 out of 5 on Capterra across 28 reviews, as of September 2026, and 23 customers have reviewed it on our own site. Pepsico’s pilot plant uses it. So do Westin Hotels, JB Weld, Katoen Natie, Alberta Electric System Operator and the City of Boulder water treatment plant.

Questions buyers ask

Is FastMaint a good FTMaintenance alternative?

For one site with a maintenance team of two to ten or more people, yes. FastMaint publishes its prices, you can try the complete product for 30 days without booking a demonstration, and PM scheduling, parts, purchasing and reports are in every edition. Teams learn it in days, it runs in our cloud or on your own servers, and support comes from the people who wrote the software.

Are FastMaint and FTMaintenance the same product?

No. They are separate products from separate companies with similar names. FastMaint CMMS is made by SMGlobal Inc., the same product from the same company since 2002. FTMaintenance Select is made by FasTrak SoftWorks, Inc.

Can FastMaint run in the cloud, or on our own servers?

Both, and you choose. FastMaint Cloud is the Web edition hosted by us, used in a browser on a computer, tablet or phone, with updates and support in the subscription, starting at a single user. FastMaint Web installs on your own server with the same browser access. Professional and Standard install on Windows computers, keep working without an internet connection, and are built for sites with little IT support. You can move between them later, and Cloud data can be backed up at any time to a database file the installed editions open. FTMaintenance offers cloud and on-premise options too.

Does FastMaint have a one-time license, like FTMaintenance?

Yes. FastMaint Standard, Professional and Web are sold for a one-time license fee and install on your own computers or server. Annual maintenance, which covers updates and support, is an optional yearly add-on, and the version you bought keeps running if you do not renew it. FTMaintenance also lists a one-time purchase perpetual license, as of October 2026.

What reports does FastMaint include?

The reports come built in, in every edition: work order cost and duration against the estimate, equipment downtime compared across three successive periods with drill-down to the records, and costs rolled up through your equipment and location hierarchy. FastMaint Web and Cloud can also run reports on a schedule and email them. You can also build your own custom reports in every edition.

How long do FastMaint customers keep using it?

Four of our five published case-study customers have used FastMaint for more than ten years, and several reviewers on our customers page say the same. Vertex Refining has run it at two sites for a decade. That matters more than a feature list, because the usual way a CMMS fails is that the maintenance team stops opening it.

Can we try FastMaint before we buy?

Yes. The 30-day trial is the complete product, with no credit card needed. The equipment list, PM schedules and task templates you build during it carry straight over when you enter a license key, so the trial is also your setup.

What does FastMaint cost, and what does FTMaintenance cost?

FastMaint publishes its prices: Standard $2,500 one-time for a single user, Professional and Web from $6,000 one-time, and FastMaint Cloud hosted by us from $100 a month. FTMaintenance does not publish prices. As of October 2026 its pricing page lists four plans, Lite, Lite+, Full Scale and One-Time Purchase, each marked call for quote.
