How do I define maintenance tasks - Step 2 of 4 (FastMaint Web)
From the Home Page select the Tasks link. This will bring up a list of tasks (if any)
that have already been defined. Select the Add New button at the bottom left of the list to create your first
task. This will bring up the tasks page shown below.
Enter task information:
-
Name and description: The task below has been called "Oil change
for Forklift".
You can also use some a code that makes sense to you e.g. "FL-INSP-A",
"A6 BP 124".
-
Category, Class, Priority: The Category field could represent things like cost
centers, departments, customers and so on. The task class specifies if this task is a preventive maintenance task or a breakdown maintenance task.
Specify the priority (High/ Medium/ Low)
for this task.
-
Start time and duration: This task is to be done at 9.30 AM
for one hour.
-
Effective period: Period during which work orders can be created from the
task.
Here we can start creating work orders from "Jan 1, 2004". There is no ending
date. Having an ending date or specifying a maximum number of work orders is
useful if this a contract based task or some other special maintenance that is
restricted.
-
Frequency: This is a meter based task that is scheduled whenever the
meter on a specified forklift increases by 1500 miles. By selecting the
Monthly or Yearly options we can specify other schedules for the
task e.g. once in three months, some
specific time every year and so on. The Unplanned option can be used for
unplanned tasks (e.g. equipment breakdowns). The Meter/ Alarm option can be used for tasks
scheduled based on a meter reading or alarm condition. Tasks with the
Unplanned option or Alarm option can be scheduled as needed using the
Request feature. Specify a calendar if you
want task dates to be automatically adjusted for calendar off days.
