How do I define maintenance tasks - Step 1 of 5 (FastMaint Basic/ Standard/ Professional)
Tasks Are Used As Templates For Creating Maintenance Work Orders:
Save time & reduce repetitive data entry for maintenance jobs. Once you create tasks, you
(as well as other maintenance personnel) can use them as templates to create work orders as needed.
Note: You do not need to define tasks for all your maintenance jobs, just the ones you may want
to do detailed analysis or reporting on (e.g. costs by job type, etc.). For other types of ad-hoc jobs
e.g. "change a light bulb", "lubricate a motor", etc. use a standard task template
to create work orders as needed (e.g. the task "Unplanned Maintenance (Any)").
Tasks can help you:
- identify & classify the set of standard maintenance practices
- provide the same interface to manage planned & unplanned
maintenance
- save time creating work orders - much information
is copied from the task
- use a powerful Planning module to plan & schedule
maintenance activities
- capture best practices (in task instructions) from work
order to work order
- organize work classification resulting in better analyses &
identification of areas for improvement
Identifying & setting up such maintenance tasks can take some
up-front time. However, the long term benefits can be substantial.
Many FastMaint customers have reported seeing a downward trend
in equipment breakdowns & spare parts usage.
