Create work orders for breakdowns/ maintenance requests - Step 1 of 2 (FastMaint Basic/ Standard/ Professional)

Maintenance tasks scheduled based on a calculated frequency (e.g. jobs done weekly/ monthly/ etc.) are automatically scheduled by FastMaint. However, equipment breakdowns or alarm conditions will result in the need to schedule unplanned maintenance work.

When you define task templates as shown in the previous demo (How do I define maintenance tasks?), you can also create task templates for unplanned work. Such tasks can have a frequency of Unplanned or Alarm (based on an alarm condition). The Unplanned frequency option on a task will allow you to schedule tasks on any dates & times you specify. This option is good for breakdown type tasks or tasks that are scheduled on a request basis. The Alarm frequency option on a task will schedule the task whenever an alarm condition is reported on a specified equipment. This is a good option when a specific equipment condition may require many different & possibly unrelated tasks to fix. A single alarm report will schedule all tasks based on that alarm.

To create such work orders you can click the New button when in the Work Orders view shown below. This will bring up a wizard screen that will allow you select the type of work order to create. OR alternatively you can directly click the Requests button on the top toolbar. This will bring up the Create Unplanned/ Alarm Work Orders For Breakdowns/ Maintenance Requests screen. Next Step >
